Hi there this is Paul again and welcome to Pautectips, and all being good, let’s dig straight away into today’s topic. Today, there is good news, and what is it about?
Microsoft has
officially released windows 11 today on October 5th 2021 and you can
now upgrade your device to windows 11 build for free!
Right here, I will
show you how you can upgrade to windows 11 entirely for free and also whether
or not your pc meets the minimum system requirements.
Obviously,
it's great if your pc meets these system requirements but, if it doesn’t, I
will show you a way to work around it to have windows 11installed on your
unsupported device.
To start with, first
let's check whether your computer is capable of running windows 11.
Head over to this website; CLICK HERE
Once you come over to
this website, just come over to the bottom and over here, you'll see a link
with the system requirements. You also have the pc health check tool here. You
can download the pc health check app and when you run the app,
it will tell you if your pc qualifies to run windows 11.
I have already downloaded it so I will just go over to my pc and I will simply click on it to run it.
Here unfortunately, as you can see, my pc doesn’t qualify to run windows 11 currently.
If yours qualifies, you should see a message rather like
this one over here.
Alright, if your pc
does not qualify just like my own here, don't worry,
it's not a big headache. You have two different options and the first option is
that, you could simply stay on windows 10. Microsoft has stated that, they're
going to continue supporting windows 10 through to 2025.
The second option is that,
if you’re in dire need to experience windows 11, then you can get windows 11
even if it states that, your hardware is not capable of running the software.
And the way to work around this is to download
the iso file of windows 11. When you have the iso file, you can run the
installation and this option will bypass these system requirement checks and
let you have windows 11 on your device.
The downsides to this
option are that, Microsoft has stated that,
you might not get security or driver updates if you go for this option.
But I think Microsoft just said that to limit
any liability by saying hey, we will support all
pcs, so it's a risk you'll have to bear.
Alright, don’t worry,
there is still a way that I can walk you through to get the iso file and
upgrade your machine.
As usual, when you upgrade to windows 11, it
will keep all of your different apps and files so you shouldn't lose anything.
But, that being said, it's always safe to back up your personal data to an
external hard drive, or alternatively, back them up to Microsoft’s OneDrive and
that's a cloud storage for your files.
Alright, let’s start the upgrade to windows 11
right away.
Click on your start menu. Click on settings
then select update and security and right up at the top you should see whether
you can upgrade to windows 11.
If your pc qualified the system checks like
this one, then you will see this upgrade option, but unlike my
own, that doesn’t support windows 11, you won’t see this
option to upgrade.
But if you have this,
simply click on download and install, and it'll take some few hours to be done
and if it is successful, then congrats, you now have windows 11 build.
Alright lets also look at if your pc qualifies
but you don't see a download and install option or, if your pc doesn't qualify.
In this case, you have to head over to the following website. Visit website here
Right here, you have three different options for
installing windows 11 if your pc doesn't meet the windows 11 system
requirements.
The first one uses an assistant and this is probably the easiest path to install windows 11.
The second option allows you to create installation media with either a usb drive so you can use it to install windows 11 on your device.
In case you don't know how to create a bootable usb
installation media with windows iso file, then please check a video on how to
do that with your windows 11 iso file after you've downloaded it. You can then
use this bootable usb installation media to install windows 11 on your
unsupported device.
The third option is to create an iso and this
is good to go if your hardware is not capable of running windows 11. When you
download the iso it'll just be a file with the extension.iso.
With this option,
when you have the iso file on your pc, you can simply then click on that file
and that'll kick off the installation process of windows 11 on your unsupported
pc.
Alright that is it
for today, hope I was able to walk you through the path to upgrade your machine
to windows 11 successfully. If you know you were helped, please I will like to
leave you with one last but a very important message, subscription is
completely free just like upgrading to windows 11 I have just shown to you.
So please help me
with it by heading over to the subscription button on this channel and clicking
on it and turn on the little notification bell so that I can notify you the
latest videos release on this channel.
Alright, thank you
for sticking out with me today. I will like you to take a very good care of
yourself and until we meet again, goodbye for now.
