Hi everyone and thanks for following. Today we're going to fix the desktop icon, 'this pc' or 'my computer' not stable at one place on the desktop.
Most commonly, this desktop icon is the gateway to windows file explorer. It quickly links us to the files we store on our computer so that we can access them so easily. Isn't it? So, before we can get access to our files on the computer easily it means that we must first be able to quickly locate this pc icon to take us to our files.
So, in this case, we will want to be able to place this icon on a place on the desktop where we can easily remember and grab hold of it.
But quiet unfortunately, some people with this problem are not able to place this icon on a fix place on the desktop. They can’t drag and place this icon on a convenient place. Or when they do, the next time they refresh their desktop, or, add or remove any other desktop icon, this my pc icon is going to change location again. It will not respond to the user preferences.
But
fortunately, if you have this particular problem I'm talking about, and you’re

If you have created a shortcut of this pc icon and added it to your desktop, this is how its gonna behave. You probably might have done this by just dragging this folder from your start menu to your desktop. It appears on your desktop as shortcut to the main this pc icon but well, this method is going to make it not stable on your desktop.
So, lets rather do it the right way to fix the instability.
Go to settings. Click on personalization.
Right here at your left-hand side, find and click on theme.
Move over to the right-hand side here, locate and click on desktop icon settings.
Once this mini window pops up, under the icons here, you will find this pc icon right here. Click on its box to check it. Once you’re done with that, come down right here to the bottom of this mini window and click on apply and then click on ok. And bham! That’s it you’re done!
Do you have another way you could get to the desktop icon settings easily, than passing through this method that seems a little bit longer? Yes, there is another simple way. Just get to your windows search and type theme. Select the first result and click on it.

now, on your desktop, this pc icon now responds to where you want it to stay
for good. So, at this point, you can go ahead and delete the faulty shortcut.
